myQ User Menu Functions and Commands

Common operations are activated near the top of your inventory list. The options are organized along the left gutter of the page and in groups placed in a drop-down panel at the top. Move the mouse over the "User Menu" button at top-left to activate the panel.

Top-page options are organized into four categories: Main User Tasks such as adding or importing coupon data, Functions which operate on selected records, Reports, and account functions.

  1. Main User Tasks
    • Add a Coupon - Presents a dialog box to manually enter information for a coupon you want to add to inventory.
    • Search - Handy for long lists.
    • Import Coupon Sets - No typing needed for common coupon publications like Red Plum or P&G. This feature let's you add them with a click!
    • Import From Other Users A great way to share the effort with someone else. FMI read the section on virtual shopping buddies.
    • Edit Your Shortcuts Up to 10 personal web links are available. Use this menu choice to set them up.

  2. Selected Items (Features in this section perform some action on just the records with a checkmark.)
    • Mark (zero or expired) Records - These options automatically select records with zero quantity or expired coupons. Example: to delete expired coupons from your inventory, click here once then choose delete selected. Two clicks and you're done.
    • Print Selected - Once you've selected coupons for a pick list, here is where you print them. There is some more info here.
    • Update Quantity As you use coupons, you'll want to change the quantity in your inventory. Change one or several records on your list then choose this action to record the updated numbers.
    • Send to Swap List - This action copies any selected records to your swap list. Maybe you don't need a swap list, but if you do, this is easy, Read more here.
    • Reclassify Sooner or later you will probably enter some coupons in your inventory with the wrong information. This is where you fix it. The data you input is applied to all selected records. A frequent use may be to update the expiration date for online coupons. Many have rolling expirations from the date printed rather than date-certain like the magazines. There is more information about online coupons in this section. *NOTE! The reclassify option is where you can associate your favorite store with certain coupons.
    • Delete This is the primary tool to remove coupon records from your inventory. Select the records to be deleted then choose this function. You'll be asked to confirm then the records will be deleted permanently. Be sure! There is no undelete command.
  3. Reports
    • Audit Report - Prints a hardcopy of your entire (virtual) coupon inventory. It's a paper waster but handy when you need a checklist to reconcile the physical coupons in your collection.
    • Pull List - Coupons expire. You will want a list of expired coupons to discard.
    • Filtered List - Handy for printing a hard copy of only certain types of coupons.
    • Swap List Prints the swap list so you can email or post it to an auction.
  4. Account Functions
    • Register - Only used once, when you apply to register your account with myQ.
    • Preferences - Several settings on this page control various myQ user features.
    • Download your backup - This action will download a backup copy of your data to your local computer. You can save the file or even include it in your local backup policy. For more information see the My Data section
    • Empty the Swap List This action deletes all the records from your swap list. Example: you sold or traded your extra coupons so the list is out of date.

Other Functions:
Some additional functions are located in the stats panel at the upper left of the user page. These are accessed by clicking the links as follows:
  • Swap List - This is just a shortcut to view your current swap list.
  • Expired - Clicking Expired selects (places a checkmark) next to all expired coupons.
  • Expiring Soon - Ditto for coupons expiring within a week.
  • Expiring Today - Last chance to save!
  • Clear Selections - A fast way to clear (uncheck) all selected records. Click this to make sure none of the records in the list are checked.
  • Quick Links - This section title is also a command. Click it to display your personal shortcuts (links to other sites).
  • Add a Coupon, Master List ETC. - These choices behave as the commands listed above in the menu section.
