Coupon UPC Barcodes

Few stores will accept coupons which don't have a barcode. Barcoding is necessary for automation and modern business is all about automation. The UPC code is the oldest an most used type of code. It translates a 12 digit number. myQ uses this number internally to identify each coupon definition. Other schemes are being investigated by the retail industry but right now the UPC barcode is the most universal method of identifying a specific coupon offer.

Standard Abbreviations and Codes

To avoid confusion, we ask that users observe the following abbreviations when possible. To provide future service expansion all two character abbreviations and codes are reserved to the system. If you plan to use a non-standard abbreviation in your personal database, please make sure it contains three characters or more (no punctuation)
